Clinical Hypnotherapy Certification

Clinical Hypnotherapy provides the Holistic Consultant, Holistic Practitioner, or other Health Professional a valuable tool for assisting the client/patient to utilize the power of the mind to create the change they desire. Many times it is difficult for individuals to have an agreement between their Conscious and Unconscious Minds. Hypnotherapy is a tool to enhance understanding and agreement between these two powerful components of the human mind. With their specific outcomes defined, clients can create the change they desire with the assistance of hypnotherapy. Hypnotherapy is a scientifically based process for successfully creating personal change. IHL teaches you the specific skill to help others.

A comprehensive 244 Contact Hour Program centered upon the therapeutic and medical aspects of hypnosis. Accelerated healing methods, pain management, and working with medical professionals are also included in this Program. Clinical training also teaches the theory and practice regression methods with a strong emphasis on practical hours to ensure successful application of all previously learned methods.

Clinical Hypnotherapy 101 will introduce the learner to the basic concepts of hypnosis;  provide a clear understanding of the value and difference between the conscious and unconscious mind; recognition and value of the state of hypnosis.  Various hypnotherapy techniques will be taught; discussion of indications and contraindications of clinical hypnotherapy; the ethical and legal scope of practice; development of hypnotherapy programs for behavior changes such as smoking cessation, weight control, stress management, etc.

Prerequisites: None  

HYP 101 Course Outcomes:

• Explain the history of hypnotherapy

• Perform client intake specific to the needs of hypnotherapy

HYP 201 Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapy

Tuition: $575

The Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapy course introduces the theories and practices of indirect hypnotherapy; hypnosis language patterns; therapeutic metaphor and additional nondirective techniques. The use of Hypnotherapy in the medical / health care setting will also be presented with a focus on pain management, obstetrics, dentistry, and hypnoanesthesia.

Prerequisite: HYP 101

HYP 201 Course Outcomes:

• Utilize hypnotic Language Patterns  in the interview process<

• Discuss various models of Ericksonian Hypnosis

• Perform non-directive hypnotherapy techniques

• List indications and contraindication for hypnotherapy in the healthcare setting

• Discuss the scope of practice for clinical hypnotherapy in a health care setting

• Perform clinical hypnotherapy techniques for the healthcare and dental milieu

Additional Certification Requirements – Core Courses:

To complete any certification, all three core classes must be successfully taken and completed. To view the core courses, click 'Core Courses' in the menu. 

These courses only have to be successfully completed one time  and will then apply to any certification the student completes. Student will not be certified until all three core course and certification courses are successfully completed with an 80% or above

Note: Licensed Health Professionals and/or Successful College Completion of equivalent courses allows for an exemption of BIO and PSY.

Core courses only need to be taken once and then can be applied to all other IHL Certifications for up to a 3 year period.
