In this workshop, Dr. McCormick will discuss a basic medicine chest of herbal remedies that you can keep in your home. In addition, she will share the use of culinary herbs, which will include recipes for you to take home. Discussion of how to plant a micro herbal garden on your porch for spring / summer months will be presented. Attendees will even make an herbal seasoning they can take home with them to provide health & flavor to their cooking!

The Art of Sprouting

In this class we will discuss the nutritional benefits of adding sprouts to YOUR food plan. Some sprouts are powerful anti cancer foods, some are amazing at balancing blood sugar. We will also discuss and demonstrate the ease of growing sprouts in your own kitchen.
You will have the opportunity to taste several different types of sprouts and learn how to use them in cooking / meal preparation.

Advanced Reflexology Techniques

This course has been designed to meet the needs of reflexologists wanting to further develop both their knowledge and skill in the practice of reflexology. The course combines both theory and “hands-on” practice. We will explore new techniques to add to your skillset as well as strategies for working with the body’s innate healing process. The participant will be able to offer their clients more specialized and comprehensive sessions.
A foot tune up kit for self-care of the practitioner and client is required for an additional cost of $25 (retails over $40). All kit money collected by IHL will be paid to Mary Ellen.
In this workshop you will learn:
1. The importance of loosening the feet before and during the session.
2. Self-care foot stretches to use with clients that open the feet enhancing strength and balance.
3. Techniques to enhance reflex response.
4. Additional ways to work the spinal reflex

The Energy of Reflexology

Working with the reflex points of the feet from an energy perspective the practitioner can offer a means to communicate an intent to the body to enhance the balancing aspect of reflexology. The participant will gain an understanding of ways to effect the whole being working with intention. This class will look at touch and visualization techniques for activating the energy fields in the feet via the reflexes. The class combines both theory and hands-on practice.

In this one-day workshop you will learn:

  1. A unique gentle way to do reflexology using touch and visualization techniques for activating energy in the foot reflexes.
  2. A map of the energy fields in the feet
  3. Hand holds and techniques such as kidney charging, heart hold, solar plexus hold/release
